I am a writer, editor and academic based in Manchester and London. I have been writing professionally since 2003 and have had my work featured in publications including The Daily Telegraph, Times Literary Supplement, Literary Review and New Statesman.

Between 2004 and 2009, I was the managing editor of the award-winning literary magazine Transmission, a showcase for short stories and literary journalism.

I was awarded a Masters with distinction in Creative Writing from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2006. In 2013, I completed my doctoral thesis on the fiction of David Foster Wallace.

I have lectured in English and Creative Writing at Manchester Metropolitan University, and undertaken post-doctoral research projects at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation in Manchester, and the Institute of English Studies at the University of London's School of Advanced Study.

I was an Associate Fellow at the School of Advanced Study between 2015 and 2017, and I am currently the Publications Officer at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation.
